Crumb – Writers: Does a Day of Watching Give a Lifetime of Ideas?

I read somewhere that on any single day or in any single scene, a writer – an observant writer – can find a lifetime of ideas to write about. I scratch my head over this but think about it as I ping-pong through my day. I have to admit: by forcing myself to notice, I’m much more attuned to the people and events around me. This morning I watched a woman, dressed in a suit that announced her importance, grab hold of a cup of black coffee with both hands and lift it to her nose. With eyes closed, she looked like she drifted off to someplace to where life is good and unhurried where we take time to bask in mercy and love.

Writers? How about you? Do you look around you and see a lifetime of inspiration and story?
